Tsavo East National Park

Tsavo East National Park is one of Kenya's oldest and largest national parks, known for its stunning landscapes, diverse wildlife, and unique attractions. Here are some of the highlights of Tsavo East National Park:

Landscape Diversity: Tsavo East boasts a diverse range of landscapes, from open savannahs to semi-arid plains, lush riverine forests, and the dramatic Yatta Plateau, which is the world's longest lava flow.

Wildlife Viewing: The park is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including the "Big Five" (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhinoceros). Other animals you can spot include cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, and numerous bird species.

Red Elephants: Tsavo East is famous for its "red elephants" that are covered in reddish-brown dust from the park's volcanic soil. This phenomenon makes them a unique and striking sight.

Bird Watching: Bird enthusiasts will enjoy Tsavo East, as it hosts over 500 bird species, including ostriches, eagles, hornbills, and herons. The park's diverse habitats provide excellent bird-watching opportunities.

Mudanda Rock: This massive rock formation is a popular attraction in the park. It acts as a water catchment area, and during the dry season, animals gather around it, making it an ideal spot for game viewing.

Day 1: Diani – Tsavo East National Park

You will be picked from your hotel by our professional driver at around 6.30 am driving along Mombasa- Nairobi highway proceed to Tsavo East National Park (The largest park in Kenya which covers an area of 13,747 km2) arriving at the Bachuma Gate by around 10.00 am. Embark on a game drive looking for animals en route to your lodge/camp arriving in time for lunch. Check in and lunch followed by an afternoon leisure rest until 4.00 Pm when you will venture out for an evening game drive looking for more animals in the vast Tsavo East National Park. Return to your lodge/camp around 6.30 Pm to freshen up, dinner and overnight. Physical attractions include but not limited to: Tsavo River, Yatta Plateau which is 300 km2, Mudanda Rock, Lugard’s Falls, Voi seasonal River and Aruba Dam. There’s a chance to see wildlife such as lions, red elephants, leopards, cheetah, buffaloes, zebras, gazelles, and giraffes, numerous bird speciaes among others.

Day 2: Tsavo East National Park – Diani

You will wake up at around 5.30 am have a cup of tea/coffee and embark on an early morning game drive looking for more animals which are usually very active in the early morning hours until 8.00 am. return to the lodge/camp for full breakfast. After breakfast freshen up and checkout from your lodge/camp and proceed for another game drive en route to Voi Town where you will have your lunch. After lunch drive back to Diani Beach arriving in the early evening.

Child Policy

At Felessy Tours and Safaris, we understand the importance of creating memorable family vacations. To ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for families with children, we have formulated the following children policy:

1. Children below 3 years:
   • Children aged below 3 years old are welcomed with open arms and are eligible to travel free of charge when accompanied by at least one paying adult.
2. Children between 3 and 13 years:
   • Children between the ages of 3 and 13 years will be charged at a discounted rate of 75 percent of the adult rate. This is our way of making family travel more accessible and affordable for parents with young children.
3. Teens between 13 and 18 years:
   • Teenagers between the ages of 13 and 18 years are considered young adults and will be subject to the full adult rate. This reflects our commitment to offering fair pricing while recognizing the changing needs and preferences of older children.

Booking Policy

Clients are supposed to make a 50 per cent down payment to confirm their safari. The balance is paid either in cash or through credit card upon arrival in Kenya before commencement of the safari. Please note that credit card payment attracts an extra charge which is levied by the banks.
