Safari with an overnight in Aberdares National Park - Kenyan safari a break away from the city where you have the sounds of birds and wild animals and overlooking them in a rooftop-viewing platform. On clear days you can even see the snowy peaks of Mount Kenya.

Overnight Safari to Aberdares Park with transfer from your Nairobi hotel into the Aberdare National Park to Treetops or the Ark or Serena Mountain lodge for an evening and Night of game watching from your veranda overlooking a flood-lit water hole and salt lick high up on the densely wooded slopes of the mountain. While away the after-dinner hours identifying creatures of the wild as they gingerly step out of the forest. Wildlife found here includes Elephants, Buffalos, Leopards, Lions, Cheater, and Giraffe among others.

The Safari lodges are also the main attraction of the Aberdares. Both Treetops and The Ark are built above the ground beside floodlit waterholes with salt licks. Visitors must book in advance and cannot make their own way to the lodges in private vehicles. 

Night Game viewing at the Aberdares National Park

Nocturnal game viewing is taken so seriously that there is a buzzer in each room which sounds if an unusual animal turns up at the waterhole. Elephant, buffalo, rhino, leopard and bushbuck are regular visitors. 

Day 1: Nairobi to Aberdare National Park, Kenya 

Distance: 180 km (3 hrs.). Depart Nairobi at 0830hrs. Cross the Kenyan Highlands, through pineapple and coffee plantations, to your "base hotel" in time for lunch at Aberdare Country Club/Outspan or Serena Lodge. Afternoon transfer into Aberdare National Park and on to The Tree Lodges for bird watching and overnight floodlit game viewing from the lodge viewing decks. Dinner and overnight at The Ark Lodge or Treetops Lodge or Serena Mountain Lodge. 

Day 2: Aberdare to Nairobi, Kenya 

After breakfast,  return to the base hotel. Reconnect with your driver for a drive back to Nairobi arriving in time for lunch and drop off to your hotel or go for lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant.  

Special remarks

Children below 7 years are not admitted at the Ark Lodge and/or Treetops Lodge. Only an overnight rucksack is permitted at the tree lodges owing to limited space in the cabins. Excess luggage is stored at the base hotel. Travellers are advised to pack warm clothing for the Aberdare National Park since nights are pretty chilly. The tour may also overnight at The Treetops Lodge in Aberdare or Serena Mountain Lodge in Mount Kenya at no extra cost. However, children below 7 years are permitted for overnight at Serena Mountain Lodge.

Child Policy

At Felessy Tours and Safaris, we understand the importance of creating memorable family vacations. To ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for families with children, we have formulated the following children policy:

1. Children below 3 years:
   • Children aged below 3 years old are welcomed with open arms and are eligible to travel free of charge when accompanied by at least one paying adult.
2. Children between 3 and 13 years:
   • Children between the ages of 3 and 13 years will be charged at a discounted rate of 75 percent of the adult rate. This is our way of making family travel more accessible and affordable for parents with young children.
3. Teens between 13 and 18 years:
   • Teenagers between the ages of 13 and 18 years are considered young adults and will be subject to the full adult rate. This reflects our commitment to offering fair pricing while recognizing the changing needs and preferences of older children.

Booking Policy

Clients are supposed to make a 50 percent down payment to confirm their safari. The balance is paid either in cash or through credit card upon arrival in Kenya before commencement of the safari. Please note that credit card payment attracts an extra charge which is levied by the banks.
